Principal’s Welcome
Dia daoibh agus fáilte! Welcome to our new school website for St.Thomas’ National School. St.Thomas’ National School is a small, rural, co-educational Primary School located in Rathowen, Co. Westmeath. Our school welcomes children of all faiths and none. We provide a safe and caring environment for your child during their time with us. We aim to provide a broad inclusive education, helping each child to reach his/her full potential. We have dedicated staff and have built close working relationships with parents and the school community. Our class sizes are small which allows us to give children the individual attention that they need. Our multi-grade classes help children learn to become independent learners and develop skills such as producing independent projects and interacting in a variety of group activities. We are extremely proud of our fantastic little school. We hope you enjoy exploring our website. If you would like to find out more about our school or arrange a visit please contact us at stthomasns@gmail.com.

The School Day
Teachers arrive at 8.25am and pupils are expected to be in school by 8.45am.
There are two breaks during the day.
The Infants are collected at 1.10pm and class ends for all pupils at 2.10pm
It is important to arrive punctually to collect your child from school. A child can become upset if he/she sees others being collected and feels he/she has been left behind. If you are not collecting your child yourself please inform the school of this in advance so as to avoid confusion at the school gate.
