The Junior Room squeezed in a last-minute trip to Mollie Moo’s Pet Farm. Everyone (teachers included) was excited for a wholesome day out feeding some farm animals.

Bridget kindly took us on the bus to the pet farm, where we were greeted by one of the farmers. He told us a little about the farm and showed us a map of the grounds. Each of the children received a bag of feed for the animals. We set off in search of some hungry farm animals and saw some geese, ducks, cows, a highland cow, pigs, chickens, alpacas, llamas, donkeys, horses, goats, a kid, Shetland ponies, rabbits and guinea pigs. The Juniors were very brave feeding the animals straight from the palms of their hands, and they even petted some on the nose! One of the other farmers came to show us some three-week-old bunnies, and let us pet them. They were very cute! We made our way down to the Go-Kart track and the children had lots of fun racing round the track, as did Ms. Mills and Lauren. After all the feeding and racing, it was time to feed our own bellies. We went off in search of a peaceful picnic bench for a break.

The children couldn’t resist the urge to go on the playground. They were very climbing the ladders, sliding down slides and swinging on swings. Afterwards, Ms Mills and Lauren did their best to teach the Juniors how to play the basics of Crazy Golf. Let’s just say, we didn’t make it round every hole or keep any score…

The children then visited Mooville. This is an Interactive Village that has pedal tractors, cars, houses and slides. Here they enjoyed pretending to work in the café, drive in their tractors, fill their tractors with fuel and even mow grass. The children enjoyed some more time on the go-karts before going to the sand pit, where they enjoyed making lots of castles and using the diggers to scoop the sand.

We enjoyed some more lunch in the picnic area before going back to school. On our way back, Bridget kindly let us stop for some ice-cream. What a treat to end a great day!
