To finish our Active Week, we decided to try something new! What better way than for it to be colourful, energetic and most importantly fun! A big thank you goes to Lauren for planting the seed to host our very own fun colour run and splash party!
Lauren spent most of Thursday morning setting up our school yard in preparation for the madness. Small pots and large buckets circled the yard, each containing non-toxic powder paint. The pupils gathered in the centre of the playground and each received a paper cup. On command, the children ran to a bucket and scooped up some powder paint and aimed for an opponent. Hues of pink, blue, orange and green filled the air at St. Thomas’, as the boys and girls were covered from head to toe in colour, some even donned new hair colours! It was a truly spectacular, colourful and joyous activity for everyone.
To follow our fun colour run, the children also had a splash party. Again, large containers and buckets of water surrounded the playground and the children each had a sponge or jug to use. The children weren’t long about getting their revenge on their teachers and staff following a year of hard work! The big guns were called in and the teachers and staff got their own back, as Mr. Hales was equipped with a power hose and Ms. Mills and Lauren each had a water pistol! It wasn’t long until all containers were empty and refills were under way. There was water thrown and splashed in all directions!
Everyone had a thoroughly fantastic and fun filled afternoon. We hope that you enjoy our photographs!
