To mark the end of Chinese New Year festivities, people around the world like to celebrate with a Lantern Festival on the 15th day of celebrations. Following the children’s learning about China, the Junior Room had a lovely afternoon, where they embraced some of the Chinese culture and experienced what they had learned over the past month about China’s food and clothing. The Junior Room had been decorated for Chinese New Year over the past month and the Juniors dressed up in their finest Chinese inspired clothing and enjoyed a feast of Chinese food. The Juniors experienced their very own Chinese Restaurant at school and tasted lots of yummy dishes including sweet and sour, satay, Szechuan noodles, egg fried rice, chicken balls and prawn crackers. We listened to some relaxing Chinese music and enjoyed trying out some new food. We had lots of fun!
