The day the children have been counting down to finally arrived – Pancake Tuesday! The Junior Room started the day by practicing their fine motor skills and cutting out different toppings to make a picture of their perfect pancake! There were lots of options but some of the favourites were chocolate sauce, strawberries and white chocolate chips. For play time, the tray was set up with lots of ingredients to make our own play pancakes, along with whisks, bowls, sieves and jugs. The children really enjoyed ‘cracking’ the eggs and adding in flavourings. They all worked together to practice flipping pancakes, and despite a few falling to the floor, the children mastered it by the end of play!

As always, the staff worked very hard to set up an amazing pancake party for the whole school. Everyone enjoyed making their way around the pancake parlour to top their warm pancakes with their favourite sweet treats! As always, Nutella was the most sought-after topping, along with strawberries, raspberries and chocolate chips. Amongst the line up were some new arrivals for this year: crushed Maltesers, vanilla ice cream, honeycomb ice cream and chopped nuts. There were lots of happy faces and full bellies after some of the Seniors had five pancakes!
