Break : 10. 40 – 11 .00 a.m.
Lunch : 12 .40 – 1 .10p.m.
Junior Room
Break : 10. 40 – 11 .00 a.m.
Lunch : 12 .40 – 1 .10p.m.
Junior and Senior Infants finish school at 1.10p.m.
1st – 6th class finish school at 2.10 p.m.
Lunches
St. Thomas’ National School is DEIS Band 2 Rural. Lunches are provided free of charge to the children from Fresh Today. Parents place the lunch orders online and they are delivered to the school each morning. If you want to change your order log into the Fresh Today website. Each child needs to bring a reusable drink container each day. Treats are allowed only on Fridays.
Uniform
BOYS: Maroon Jumper non crested, white shirt or polo neck, grey trousers.
GIRLS: Maroon jumper non crested, white shirt or polo neck, grey skirt, grey pinafore, grey trousers white or grey socks/tights
For P.E. all children can wear grey tracksuit bottoms.
Books
Books are purchased by the school and bills are sent out to parents. Parents buy some workbooks while others are provided through the book rental scheme.
Repeating Classes
The Department of Education and Skills only allows pupils to repeat classes in exceptional circumstances and for educational reasons. Please note that a pupil’s age is not a criteria to repeat a class.
Care of Belongings
Children are encouraged to take care of their books and belongings. All belongings—coats, books, bags, lunch boxes etc.– need to be labelled.
Prospective Parents
St. Thomas’ N.S provides an opportunity for prospective parents and pupils to explore the school, talk to teachers in a relaxed atmosphere at a mutually convenient time.
