To end our school’s Active Week, on Thursday, the whole school participated in and enjoyed Sport’s Day. Well done to the Student Council for organising the day’s activities.
To get warmed up for the day ahead, the children started off with the ‘Daily Mile’. This was followed by an intense game of ‘Hula Hoop Rock, Paper, Scissors’ and the iconic game of ‘Flush the Toilet’! Soon after the class races commenced.
The students were divided in to two teams and they competed against one another in a variety of races, including an obstacle course race, sprint race, crawling race, three-legged race, wheelbarrow race, sack race and egg and spoon race. We took a well-deserved break to refresh ourselves for the next part of our Sport’s Day activities.
After break time, the children had to show case their best dance moves and the blue and yellow team went head-to-head in a dance off. Dance moves were certainly questionable, yet entertaining. Everyone had a good laugh.
Following the dance off, it was time to get serious, as teachers and students went head-to-head in a soccer match. The students really put the teachers through their paces, but it was a teacher victory!
The children then took part in one of their favourite races, the sponge race. It was blues versus yellows in a race against time and water levels! Of course, the water challenges didn’t stop there, as the boys and girls geared themselves up for their favourite part of the day throwing sponges at none other than Mr. Hales!
After lunch, the children enjoyed a game of dodgeball against the teachers, where they certainly got their own back and were victorious. The teachers were then divided between the blue and yellow teams for a game of unihoc. Safe to say the teachers were ready for their beds on Thursday night!
Well done to all the boys and girls for taking part and being good humoured. Another enjoyable Sports Day was had by all.
