St. Thomas’s donned their best fancy dress attire today, as we hosted a Trick or Treat party to raise money for the Children’s Health Foundation’s Trick or Treat for Sick Children. There were appearances from a zombie cheerleader, a hurler, an angel, a cat, staff and students from Hogwarts, Maverick and Goose, a prisoner, Ben Elf and Princess Holly.
It was a day of activity. The students showcased their fancy dress outfits, as they strutted their stuff down the catwalk to none other than Madonna’s Vogue. The judges had their work cut out for them to decide this years ‘Best Costume’ award. Congratulations to both Tiago Moore and Sophie McCauley on their win!
There were a variety of spooky stations set up around the school, with a challenge at each station. Activities included a ‘Creepy Crawley Relay’, an ‘Eyeball Toss’, ‘Apple Bobbing’, ‘Witch Hat Ring Toss’ and ‘Mummy Dress Up’. The activities were enjoyed by all.
The Juniors were busy cooking up a storm in the afternoon, as they made some ‘Frankenstein Crispy Squares’. They were busy breaking up chocolate, melting chocolate, stirring in rice crispies, decorating and piping. Their Frankenstein Crispies turned out very well and importantly they were delicious!
The children were lucky to have not one, but two piñatas too, which were both packed full to the brim with sweets and treats. Great enjoyment was had by all, trying to beat the piñatas to release the treats. Both Mrs. Thompson and Mr. Hales also enjoyed controlling the height of the piñatas, and really made the boys and girls work for their sweets!
There were a few entries for the ‘Design A Pumpkin’ Competition. Well done to everyone who took part and the effort made. Congratulations to Elia Sperlins for winning with her beautiful unicorn pumpkin!
To bring an end to a wonderful day, the whole school came together to watch a Halloween movie and indulge in some treats. A fantastic day was had by all. Well done to the boys and girls for their fancy dress efforts and to those who took part in the ‘Design A Pumpkin’ Competition. Most importantly, thank you to everyone for their donations and for supporting an amazing cause. Your donations will be greatly appreciated.
